Generation to Generation is a poetic exploration of how artificial intelligence can act as a creative partner – shaping language, memory, and expression. Created by Sasha Stiles and Nathaniel Stern, the book brings together generative poetry, sculpture, and writing to imagine new ways of thinking with machines.
An essential “user’s guide” to the exhibition of the same name, this hybrid volume collects all six G2G poems in print for the first time, alongside experimental texts, a mini graphic novella, and critical essays from Claire Silver, Ivona Tau, Regina Harsanyi, and Lillian-Yvonne Bertram.
Designed as both an artefact and an interaction with artificial intelligence, Generation to Generation invites artists, scholars, and the AI-curious to engage with the poetics and possibilities of more-than-human imagination.
Sasha Stiles is a Kalmyk-American poet, artist, and co-founder of theVERSEverse. A recognised leader in AI poetry, she explores posthuman creativity at the intersection of language and technology.
Nathaniel Stern is an internationally exhibited artist and professor whose hybrid works investigate embodiment, digital culture, and ecological aesthetics.
